Canterbury Council contracted Nitrous Graphics to design a World War I memorial display. The designs included 16 panels, 8 panels in English and 8 panels in Chinese. The memorial told a story about a local World War I soldier that had originated from the Canterbury area, Robert Henry Noble. The memorial panel designs showcased The Noble Collection, a collection of possessions and communications from Henry Noble, who was killed in action whilst serving in the Australia Imperial Forces during World War I.
